For this year, I was invited by my Happy Crazy Friends to celebrate the Christmas with them at Desiree's residence. I don't know the actual location of their residence but good thing that manong driver knows where Dona Martha Drive is. I asked him to drop me at highway near the entrance and texted Jenievib to fetch me from there. But I was too excited so I decided to get inside and asked the bystanders. And they gave me the direction but unluckily I got the wrong house. Truly it was the house of a certain Fabian but I got it wrong. It was the house of Congressman Fabian. Good thing I did not even dare to ask those people standing along the gate. So I went outside again and finally met Desiree and Daren. Now heading to their house. There I met Jenievib, Mayette, AlShyr, Ar-em, Al arip with of course Des and Daren. There we had our sumptous christmas eve meal and exchanged gifts.
After the said dinner, we went to Katribo Complex. I was not supposed to be joining with them at Halo because I was on slippers. But because of their too much encouragement (wow I called it encouragement), I even went home just to change my outfit and wear on my snickers and back to Halo. So there we kept on dancing the whole night and dawn.
Until we changed venue at 3am and stayed at Banana Republic where we had the Tower. Alshyr was crazily dancing all along at our front.
We went home at around 5am straight back to Desiree’s house and had our early breakfast with some colorful poto and hot noodles. Then slept straight until 12nn. Home at last at 1pm then straight report to duty at 3pm. WOW!
This marked the first day of the most awaited season of the year, The Christmas Time. The opening of the Brent Christmas program started with the hanging of the greens and the best Christmas tree. For our unit (Private Room staff), we merged with the DeLuxe Staff. We started brain storming of ideas on November 28, 2010, Sunday. I was on a morning shift duty that time and the rest of the members started appearing after lunch. We had no idea about the final piece of our Christmas tree, all we had was the aim to collect IV bottles and IV set. After morning shift duty, we went at the back of the ICU Department and started materializing our idea on hand with the collected stuff. We had some discussion then with the size, figure and “how to” of the tree. We even went to using a chicken net (that I named chicken wire) and mentioned “numa ya se tiene shy, come on share aki”. Things that made us laugh during the brainstorming. Until finally we decided to make the way the tree becomes.
The following day, I woke up early because of a call from Ms. Epistola telling me to come early to continue the work. But I gave some excuses and report exactly 3pm. little that I know that there was an unfaithful scene happened. The shape was ruined by the morning shift duties and my Charge Nurse reacted. The boys (Jerichson and JayR) continued and finished the project halfway. I continued fixing the tree with a glue gun on the Deluxe Department. When we were about to spray paint it, the rained started pouring and the schedule postponed.
On the third day, I came to hospital at 10am. This time we were set to make the tree topper. We decided to make an angel. There were lots of brainstorming then, researching over the net and sharing ideas for the aim until we came up with the recyclable materials. Even I, was surprised with the outcome of the project. I could not imagine that I (I mean WE) did the project beautifully. We finished 8pm. Again, certain unfortunate circumstances happened like the blabbering of Philip regarding the entry from the Second Floor-Pedia and the rest of the nuisance group irritating our sense of hearing piling up with our exhaustion.
The Finalle day. December 1, 2010. We displayed our entry late and everybody was awed with our product. Many said that this is the winner. Many took picture of our entry and even picture taking themselves with it. That’s how our entry caught the crowd. And I call it CROWD FAVORITE.
But they say in a competition. There’s always a winner and a loser. Too bad we did not won the contest. The judges chose the entry from the Medical Records that even I could not imagine how the adjudicators scored it. Well I guess it’s lucky for them to have it, but of course the limelight stays with our entry. Many talks circulated regarding the grand prize winner. Who knows what’s behind this crazy incident.
Mutya ng Kagandahan year 111
I say that this is the party of all party of the year. This is a Christmas Party of Brent Nursing Service Office and one of the highlights is the Search. Pioneered in the year 2007 and was participated by a handful of equally talented candidates. Now comes, Year III which they say gets better and better.
The Search started with the photo shoot that happened in front of the hospital last December 5, 2010. It was participated by five male candidates all dressed up like females. Special participation was seen from the official photographers from Bista de Jente, all wannabees professional photographers who are also employees. Candidates were all giving all their support together with their stage managers for the photo shoot and one outshined them all and I know it was our candidate.
He posed as if he’s in a real photo shoot of a certain female magazine. We are all awed with the results of the pictures. It was amazing. We had several alternatives to make the photo shots even professional looks like we set up the pictorials with droplights instead of the real lights used by professional and the reflector from a certain foil paper that was not used.
One noteworthy to mention was a certain event wherein someone from street shouted WOW and SEXY when Yao flaunted her butt. The photo shot wherein the leggings were all ripped out because it does not fit, and the sandals that were forcefully abused just to fit the feet of one of the contestants. The photos were not uploaded right away on Facebook to make the spectators itch and crave for it. It was uploaded when we had the online facebook voting and our candidate won. This made the contest talked about around the institution plus the heat even grew bolder when we displayed all their pictures along the alley on the Deluxe department. A certain teaser uploaded on facebook and youtube even made the crowd wilder.
A week after the photo shoots, we had a certain rehearsal on the conference room regarding the candidates poses and blockings. We also had some brain storming to add crisps to the show.
But there were also events that created a hook to our heels while the preparation is ongoing. There were members who were not actively helping the committees, some even remained deaf and blind. Some of them commented that made our energy waned down. I myself even faced a certain difficulty with the video editor and I made the video in a rush but the product was okay, lucky me. And even during the night event, the weather was not cooperating; we even lost hope and contemplated to move the event to a later date.
But these entire hitch backs were all blown away. The program was superb, for me, I don’t know with the others. I was the emcee of the said program and claimed to be papang in a teleserye. With me, Teban, claimed to be the celebrity guest, Victoria Vera Becham. It was a nice experience but I don’t want to do it again. I said this will be my first and the last to be an emcee of a program especially on a stage with all the spotlights and people eyeing on you. I was having problems with the flow event but it made the whole scenario even nice because it made it funny ( I was acting as if I have problems with memory gaps and losses). Buti na lang at hindi bisto na totoong makalimutin ako. Hahahaha
In the end, John Supresencia won and beat the six other candidates. He keeps on imitating the way i talk in an exage way. He portrayss Pamela Bianca Manalo in the contest and is the reigning Mutya Ng Kagandahan 2010. Beside the pic is the original kuno Mutya ng Kagandahan Universe Victoria Vera Beckham.
Then after the said event, we went to Katribo complex and celebrated the success of the activity. We ended up until 2am that I need to go home early then the rest because of my duty schedule the following day.
